A small Chinese cloisonné enamel brush pot (scholar's cup) on a copper body, decorated with a large lotus flower among scrolling leaves and ruyi cloud swirls in blue, turquoise, green, red and black enamel, outlined in gilt wire, with a turquoise enamel interior.
Marked "CHINA" in red enamel on the base, an export mark typical of the Republic period (about 1912 to 1949).
Size: 6.4 cm diameter × 6 cm high.
Condition: wear to the gilding, small enamel losses at the rim and light scratches to the interior, consistent with age (see photos).
