Description
A vintage Robot-7 "Mechanical Walking" tin wind-up robot, made in Taiwan R.O.C., complete with its original illustrated box.
The robot is about 10 cm (4") tall and made of lithographed tin in silver with blue, red and yellow details: sunburst eyes, a triangle nose, and a chest panel with a zigzag "radar" screen and a row of control dials. Red-cuffed arms swing at the sides, and the key-wound clockwork drives rotating side paddles that make it walk.
The original box shows three robots on a lunar landscape with a rocket and a green planet, printed "Mechanical Walking Robot-7", "Made in Taiwan R.O.C." and "H.S. 2012".
Condition: the wind-up mechanism works and the robot walks. The tin shows light age wear. The box is complete, with scuffs, small paint losses and edge wear consistent with its age (see photos).
A fun piece of retro space-age toy design, great for tin toy and robot collectors.
