Condition:Good
Two unstruck coin blanks (planchets): metal discs that never reached the coining press. Together they show two stages of how a coin is made.
Type 2 (rimmed) blank: 19 mm, 4.50 g. It has passed through the upsetting mill, which raises the rim before striking.
Type 1 (flat) blank: 25 mm, 7.51 g. Straight from the cutting press, no rim yet.
Brass or bronze alloy. Country of origin unknown.
Condition: natural toning, handling scratches, and a small corrosion spot on the larger blank. Please see photos.
