Israel Hanukkah Lamp Silver Coins 1972–1976 — Complete 5-Coin Run, 4 Proof + 1 BU, ICMC Wallets & Certificates

The complete five-year run of the Israel Government Coins & Medals Corporation Hanukkah series, each reverse showing a historic Hanukkah lamp from a different Jewish community — Russia, Babylon, Damascus, Holland, and colonial America. All 34mm, 20g, struck at the Jerusalem Mint.

Four of the five are the מ-mintmark proofs, issued in noticeably smaller numbers than the standard uncirculated strikes. The 1972 Russian Lamp is the key piece: .750 fine silver and only 22,336 proofs struck. Each of the four proofs comes in its original year-branded ICMC wallet — burgundy 1972, orange 1973, green 1974, each printed “Proof” with the Hebrew year, and the 1975 in ICMC’s brown flap-style case with the embossed menorah emblem, the format used for that issue. All four retain their matching ICMC certificates. The 1974 certificate is the English-language version and states outright that the coin is proof, marked with the mem (מ).

The 1976 Early American is the ✡ uncirculated strike, 24,844 minted, and is the one exception on packaging: it’s in a later collector capsule rather than mint issue.Strike types are confirmed by edge as well as by paperwork — reeded on the four proofs, smooth on the 1976.
