This rare early American Jewish Welfare Board (J.W.B.) pin is a remarkable piece of American Jewish military history. Founded in 1917, the JWB played a vital role in supporting Jewish servicemen during World War I. This pin features a striking blue enameled Star of David crossed by a white enamel banner marked 'J.W.B.', all set on a scalloped gold disc adorned with four raised stars.
Measuring approximately 16mm and weighing 1.55 grams, the pin exhibits a strong original enamel with minimal wear, making it a compelling addition to WWI homefront, militaria, and Judaica collections. Its unique tube hinge and C-catch with rotating safety are consistent with the era, providing both functionality and historical authenticity.
