Description
Antique Japanese perfume bottle in its original box, by S. Nonomura (Sumito brand), made for export in the Taisho to early Showa era (circa 1910s-1930s).
The box reads "S. Nonomura's 'Crab Apple' Perfume Extract of Flowers", with the clover emblem, "Crab Apple Sumito, Reg'd", "The blossoms suspended in this perfume are guaranteed to be true natural flowers" and "Made in Japan, No. 1113".
Each set includes:
- Molded glass bottle with a shaped glass stopper, tied with the original pink silk thread over the cork collar
- Original clover-shaped paper label "Finest Perfume Concentra, Crab Apple, Sumito, Made in Japan", and a small "Opoponax" neck label
- Original blue-printed floral tissue wrap
- Original printed cardboard box
Condition: The bottle is empty, with dried residue of the original perfume inside. The stopper is intact; the label, wrap and box show age toning, light staining and wear to the box edges. See photos.
